Hangover Star Zach Galifianakis to Headline Pro-Abortion Fundraiser

Yesterday, LifeNews noted that Zach Galifianakis, the comedian who has become a household name due to his dopey sidekick antics in movies like Hangover and Due Date, will participate in a fundraiser for a pro-abortion group. In fact, the ad for the event list him at the top of the links to the comedians involved.

Galifianakis doesn’t appear to have much of a history of promoting abortion and, in fact, Google searches turn up virtually nothing apart from stories related to the pro-abortion event he will help headline. LifeNews contacted Galifianakis’s publicist for comment and has not heard back.

Galifianakis’s participation in the pro-abortion event is unfortunate because, last year, he became a new father. In fact, his decision to forgo a movie premier to be with his wife and baby at the hospital was admirable, as one article reported:

Zach Galifianakis is going to be a father very, very soon, according to recent reports, as his wife Quinn Lundberg is said to be in labor this afternoon (Sept. 7). But unlike most celebrity couples, these two never announced they were even expecting.

According to E! News, which got confirmation from director Matthew Weiner (who directed Galifianakis’ movie “You Are Here”), the actor skipped his movie premiere at TIFF today to be by his wife’s side at the hospital.

Us Weekly corroborates the report, quoting a source that said “They have been keeping the baby a secret … Zach is going to be an amazing father. They are looking to get a bigger place down the road.”

This will be a first child for the funnyman, 43, and his wife, 30, who got married in Aug. 2012.

There is also very little at Galifianakis’s Twitter page — in fact he hasn’t mentioned the January 19th event on it. However, he did urge support for the opponent of pro-life Rep. Virginia Foxx, (R-NC).

Hi NC. Virginia Foxx is not cool. And no relation to Redd Foxx. Vote Bill Kennedy. Here is a reminder http://t.co/sGhuoBy via @youtube

We’ll know soon enough by virtue of his comedy routine at the vent why he’s decided to stand up for the abortion industry. In the meantime, send him a tweet and urge him to reconsider.
