True Beer Lovers should be Jealous of the Quartermaster…

…and envious that he has such good friends! Gifted to me (for my birthday):

TWO growlers (yes, a whole beautiful gallon!) of Pliny the Elder, from the source, Russian River Brewing Company in Santa Rosa, CA.

I was experiencing some anxiety this week due to the fact that a busy weekend with guests is planned, and while my own beer supply is not completely exhausted, it is somewhat reduced (due to the holiday season) and selection is rather limited. While the beer I planned to serve is not bad, it might be lacking in broad appeal. And so I am particularly grateful to these friends and humbled by their generosity (they didn’t even know how knife’s-edge my situation was), for not only gifting one of my favorite beers in the whole world, but also helping to preserve my reputation!
