Potential Presidential Candidate Marco Rubio to Headline Pro-Life Tele-Town Hall

Senator Marco Rubio is one of the names bandied about as a potential Republican presidential candidate in 2016. Rubio has a consistent pro-life voting record during his time in Congress and has previously headlined pro-life events.

Rubio will do so again tomorrow as he is the keynote for a special tele-town hall hosted by Ohio Right to Life. As the pro-life group informs LifeNews:

marcorubioOhio Right to Life is excited to host pro-life Senator Marco Rubio (FL-R) as our special guest speaker for our Tele-Town Hall on Tuesday, February 11, at 6 PM EST.

Holding a 100 percent pro-life voting record, Sen. Rubio has consistently demonstrated his ability to clearly and compassionately articulate his defense of the unborn, bolstering himself to a national leadership role in the pro-life movement. Sen. Rubio has repeatedly polled as a top choice for Republicans in the 2016 presidential race.

“We are truly gratified to host such an ardent defender of life for Ohio Right to Life’s Tele-Townhall,” said Mike Gonidakis, President of Ohio Right to Life.  “We anticipate a great turnout from across the state and across the country, as Ohioans and all Americans alike look to Senator Rubio’s national leadership in defending the right to life for every human being.”

In 2012, Ohio Right to Life hosted another successful Tele-Town Hall with pro-life U.S. Representative Jim Jordan (OH-R). The event garnered thousands of participants.

To participate in this Tele-Town Hall event, call 877-228-2184 and use ID code 112364 at 6 PM EST on Tuesday, February 11. Sen. Rubio will discuss pro-life initiatives, health care, and the future of our nation. Callers will have the opportunity to ask him questions.

Last year, Rubio talked about how the pro-life cause is more than a political issue for him.

“Every life at every stage is precious,” Rubio said.

“This issue of life is a fundamental issue. It’s not a political issue,” he added. “For me it’s not about denying anybody the right to do anything. I’m not in the business of going around denying people what they want to do with their bodies or with their lives. This is about protecting people, human beings who maybe can’t speak yet and haven’t been born, perhaps don’t have a name or a social security number but they’re fully human nonetheless. They’re valuable and they’re precious and they deserve to be protected.”

Rubio continued in his interview with Brody:  “This is never going to be a political issue for me. I don’t care if it (the vote) is 90-10 or 99-1, the fundamental issue of life is one that I will never change my opinion on.”
