Disciples on the Way

In the coming months, Catholics in the Diocese of Green Bay will learn more about a new initiative being introduced by Bishop David Ricken. Known as “Disciples on the Way,” it is a six-year process — “a missionary journey into the new evangelization” — divided into three phases. Booklets have been published, which provide a road map for this journey.

The journey’s road map will embrace the new direction for the church given by Pope Francis in his apostolic exhortation, “Evangelii Gaudium,” says Bishop Ricken.

“As your diocesan bishop, I have been focusing my time in prayer and contemplation, trying to discern the best approach for the Diocese of Green Bay in implementing this new invitation for the church,” writes Bishop Ricken. “After much time and reflection … I would like to invite everyone to a journey; a journey of deepening our prayer life, of learning to be better disciples ourselves and of making disciples of others for the sake of the kingdom of God.”

Stay tuned for more information on this journey into the new evangelization. To download a copy of “Disciples on the Way,” go to www.gbdioc.org/disciplesontheway.
