Mom Grabbed 6-Week-Old Daughter by the Feet, Slammed Her Head Into the Ground Killing Her

In a chilling case of infanticide in Florida, a mother allegedly grabbed her 6-week-old daughter by the feet and lifted her up in the air before slamming her head into the ground and killing her.

The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office arrested April Weber on Monday and charged her with first-degree murder and child abuse in connection with the death of little Aubrey Weber.

aprilweberAccording to news reports, Weber frantically called her husband Harry Weber and claimed she dropped Aubrey while bouncing the infant on her knee. Harry rushed home but told local media he doesn’t believe his wife’s version of what happened.

“I really couldn’t make out what exactly happened. All I knew was she said something about bouncing and floor, and when she showed me the back of her head, I called 911, ” Harry Weber said.

According to news reports, Aubrey had clubbed feet and April was struggling to deal with the child’s pain associated with her surgeries to repair the medical condition.

Fox 13 reports:

aprilweber2The infant was rushed to St. Joseph’s Hospital where doctors identified skull fractures on the left and right side of her head, and bleeding within the skull.

Doctors told Harry Weber the child’s injuries were not consistent with what his wife had initially said.

Hernando County investigators questioned April Weber shortly after.

“She later admitted that she took the infant by the feet, she lifted the infant up over her head and threw the infant down in the bed,” Hernando County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Denise Moloney said.

Weber told investigators Aubrey bounced off the bed and onto the floor before she picked her up again and slammed her to the ground.

“The second time, the infant hit the dresser,” Moloney said.
