Actress Olivia Wilde Gushes Over Her Unborn Baby But Still Thinks Abortion’s Okay

The stunning Olivia Wilde recently publicly shared some beautiful life affirming words. Wilde is expecting her first child this May and I am loving the words she used to describe her pregnancy. She admitted to Lucky magazine that she initially expected to hide every expecting inch, but with her growing baby, her heart grew too.

As her son grows and she wears beautiful, glamorous maternity clothing, she even excitedly stated, ”I’m a woman! Look at me making a human!”

oliviawildeI love those excited words! I love the pictures of her beautiful growing belly on the luxurious red carpet. I love seeing this life develop in the limelight. There is nothing in the life of a woman that equals this amazing privilege of having human life develop within. It seems Wilde agrees. Motherhood changes even the most stubborn, calloused hearts. The typical language that Ms. Wilde uses is not exactly child or Christian friendly, and her public opinions have been very pro-abortion.

She says that pro-life politicians espouse “women-hating politics,” and goes repeatedly on record in full support of pro-abortion politicians. She says that she is now connecting with women differently, more deeply than ever before.

“Pregnancy brings you into this sort of commune-you feel connected to women in a way that you never have.”

I imagine that connection is the life that women are created to give. The connection goes back even to Eve who was named for her ability to give life to children. I pray this pregnancy draws her into a connection with her Creator as well. I am thankful for this admission that having a baby in her womb is not “woman-hating,” but actually connecting and embracing the graceful, powerful, design of women.

She already loves her son and shares one of the most life affirming, endearing details of her pregnancy in the interview. ”He’s moving around in there and no one else can tell-it’s a little secret friendship.”

She never says “it” or calls him a “blob of tissue,” or “a choice.” Sadly the secret friendship that she developed with her son is the same secret friendship that she voted in favor of murdering for any reason even while he’s still growing and moving and flinching away from the poison needles and forceps.

Ms. Wilde gives one final life-affirming point. “Pregnancy does shed away all of the bull. It gives you more empathy because you look at everyone and you think, ‘You were a baby!’”

The merciful humanity of those words is the antithesis of all pro-abortion arguments. Even the most extreme abortion supporter was at one time in his or her mother’s womb-helpless, defenseless, alive, in desperate need of mercy to carry him full term.

Please pray with me that more hearts are changed by the beauty and truth of motherhood on display in even the most secular setting, and that women all over would choose life as a result of pro-life words even from the most unlikely of sources.
