Lent by Catholic Icing – Catholic Pinterest Board of the Week

Follow CatholicPinner on Twitter

Wow, it’s been a giant week for this Catholic pinner with major growth for a few of my boards, the christening and launch of my CatholicPinner Twitter Feed (kudos to my buddy Ashley Collins for my cool logo design there!) We’re seeing a great amount of incoming traffic to CatholicMom.com thanks to Pinterest, which reminds me to tell you that despite all of the conversation about not pinning other people’s graphics onto boards, you are welcome to pin any image that you see here at CatholicMom.com. We are being very careful to select and use images that are free to be distributed, so we welcome your pins of our content as a way to help spread the word about our site’s resources.

On the topic of Pinterest and blogs and usage of images, I’ve started a Pinterest Information & Ideas board which I will be sharing content related to the effective use of Pinterest. If you see something that would be a good fit there, please @me and let me know! And be sure to check out Brad West’s great article Is It a Sin to Pin? over at Catholic Tech Talk.

Now, to this week’s Catholic Pinterest Board of the Week. My selection for this week is Lacy Rabideau’s Lent Board. Many of us already know and love Lacy from her amazing CatholicIcing.com site. On her amazing Lent board, you’ll find activity ideas, printables, crafts, recipes and more to help bring the season of Lent alive for your family. I love Lacy’s ideas because they are simple and easy to implement, and yet amazingly spirit-filled. Be sure to follow all of Lacy’s boards at http://pinterest.com/catholicicing/

One final treat for you — our good friend Allison Girone of the Catholic Pinterest Group Board has kindly agreed to offer a weekly pointer for us on how to use some best practices to enjoy and effectively employ Pinterest. Here’s this week’s tip from Allison:

When you receive an email notification from Pinterest saying that someone is following you, in turn you don’t have to “Follow All” of their boards. If you are only interested in some of their boards, just follow those specific boards of your shared interests. It’ll make Pinterest more manageable and pertinent for you.

If you’re a Catholic using Pinterest, please drop a link in the comments below to share your boards. Also, I’d love to hear about why you love Pinterest and how you think this latest craze might be used to spread the Good News.
