May Campaign for the Family Rosary

Feed:

I am honored to announce a May Campaign for the Family Rosary, initiated by Father Ryan Erlenbush at The New Theological Movement website.  This is a prayer campaign for the month of May, Mary’s Month, in which we are asking the Blessed Mother for a renewal in the practice of the family Rosary.  May is a month of prayer.

In October, the Month of the Rosary, Father Erlenbush asks us to join in actively promoting the Family Rosary in our homes, parishes, and communities.  He has the details posted here, and a Facebook page for the event here.  Please check them out and join the Facebook group.

To join the May campaign, Father Erlenbush listed some specifics:

1) Pray at least five decades of the Rosary every day (especially as a family)

2) Add some other form of daily Marian devotion such as
a) The “Little Crown of the Blessed Virgin Mary” (see below for how to pray this)

b) The Angelus [here] (or, during Easter, the Regina Caeli [here])

c) Another portion of the Rosary

d) A “novena” of Memorare prayers (i.e. the Memorare said nine times) [here]

e) some other Marian prayer, like the Magnificat [here]

3) Offer these prayers with a special intention for a new outpouring of grace now and in the month of October, for a new triumph of the Rosary in homes and families throughout the world

4) Each time we receive Communion during this month, offer the Sacred Presence of our Savior to his Most Blessed Mother dwelling in our soul, with the desire that all families may be brought closer to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary.

You may use it freely, of course, and please link it to Father Erlenbush’s website for information.  Here at Accepting Abundance, I plan to write during this month about some of the things we do as a family.

Want to learn to make Rosaries by hand?  Expect a post new week about that and about how to mail them to remote parts of the world where it is not easy to get a Rosary.  I have lots of information and it is easier than you may think.

Finally, if you would like to write a guest post about what your family does to pray together, please contact me and let me know.
