Brooklyn parish partners with Haiti church 05/11/12
It’s difficult to believe it’s been more than two years since the devastating earthquake struck Haiti, decimating large portions of the country’s infrastructure and killing more than 300 thousand people.
The quake also devastated the Church in Haiti. The Archbishop of Port Au Prince was killed and the Cathedral there came crumbling to the ground.
Here in Brooklyn, Catholics have been generous with their time and resources, helping in any way they can. Last weekend, St. Augustine Church in Park Slope announced its partnership with a sister parish in Haiti.
