She Was Headed to the Hospital to Give Birth, But Her Baby Wouldn’t Wait

On Sunday, August 24, Christina and Kevin Miranda welcomed their new baby boy into the world. But their birth story isn’t one we hear all that often because their son wasn’t born at home or at the hospital.

Christina started having contractions at 4:30 am and alerted her husband. Then, Kevin and Christian left their house and dropped off their 2-year-old daughter with grandma. As they were headed to the hospital, Christina’s contractions started coming back to back and became increasingly painful. She told her husband that she wasn’t going to make it to the hospital and that they needed to pull over right away.

Fox 29 News shared their story and said that Kevin couldn’t believe what was happening. He said, “I look over and she is pulling down her shorts, she is like ‘he is coming he is coming’ and I am like ‘no way, no way hold on I’m almost there.’

Even though Rocky came out headfirst, he is healthy and doing well. Christina delivered him only an hour and a half after her contractions began and two minutes away from the hospital.

“[It] got to the point where my contractions were back to back and I am screaming and cursing and telling my husband Kevin we need to pull over because he is coming now,” Christina said. “I said ‘seriously he is coming now,’ pulled him out, laid him on my chest.”

Her husband Kevin was stunned.

“I look over and she is pulling down her shorts, she is like ‘he is coming he is coming’ and I am like ‘no way, no way hold on I’m almost there,’” he said.

Rocky was born on the highway, a healthy 7 pounds, 20 inches and, remarkably, only an hour and a half after the first contraction.

It turns out they were only two minutes from the hospital.
