Prayer Requests and Works of Mercy

Please pray for my family. We are experiencing cascading financial problems – partially owing to my wife being out of work without pay due to an eye operation, partially because we apparently suffer from some form of financial management disorder. The dogs are at our very heels. Thanks.

Father, hear our prayer for your children that they would receive your abundant provision for their financial needs through your Son Jesus Christ. Mother Mary and St. Joseph, pray for them. St. Lucy, pray for this woman’s complete healing.

Mark we have this special project in Africa for Christmas. We will match up to $200. This community gets no help from anyone. If you feel you can promote it please do. God Bless. Pope Francis said It is “painful,” to see that the struggle against hunger and malnutrition “is hindered by ‘market priorities,’ the ‘primacy of profit,’ which have reduced foodstuffs to a commodity like any other, subject to speculation, also of a financial nature.” I have seen this myself in the third world. Food is so high in third world countries it makes me ill. In Africa where they live off of $300 a year it is just as expensive as in the States. We as missionaries grow some of our own stuff because we need to. We try to send a little money to our adopted community in Tanzania to keep them from hunger ( I am not exaggerating) but it is very little. We send money for sacks of corn meal each sack is about $5 which keeps a family alive. I have not put this out there for a while but would like to now, Here is a chance to help directly 100 % goes to feed the poor when you donate to St. Bryce Missions for food programs. Here is our site with Pay Pal http://stbryce.org/food-for-families/ Here is a photo of the sacks of corn meal. Check our credentials out online. We have letters from 3 Bishops online supporting us.

Father, hear our prayer that the work these people are doing to feed your hungry Son in the person of the poor will be abundantly multiplied by the generosity of your children.  Mother Mary, pray for all involved in this project.  We ask this through Christ our Lord.  Amen!

I’ve got a friend, an American law professor in Beijing who has started a cool tea company to bring business to Chinese Catholics in beautiful, rural places. His name is John Smagula (he’s on FB) and the company is Crossings Tea Company. You can see their work and the Catholic connection on their well-done website: http://www.crossingstea.com/

Father, bless their work in the Vineyard through Christ our Lord!  Mother Mary and St. Francis Xavier, pray for them!  Amen!

(Tea lovers, check them out!)

While you do receive prayer requests from people in far greater need than I, I humbly ask that you please keep my wife and I in your prayers as we struggle to conceive child #2. There are people out there who haven’t even been able to conceive their first child, or are struggling to pay the bills, find a job, hold their families together, endure persecution, overcome dire illness, and much more. Our unmet temporal needs pale in comparison and we are deeply grateful for the many blessings we have been given. Still, we do wish for more children and pray that the Lord’s will is done in this matter. I see it as a good thing if all of your devoted minions keep each other’s needs in prayer.

Father, hear our prayer for this family.  Give them more children and the financial means to raise them.  Mother Mary and St. Gerard, pray for them.  We ask this through Christ our Lord.  Amen.

My wife and I and our eight children just completed a coast-to-coast trip. We drove from California to Florida for the sole purpose of being near a pregnant mother who has chosen to allow us to adopt her baby, due any day now. This young mother has no support system at all and really wanted my wife to be in the hospital room during labor. We are so blessed with our eight children, and are beside ourselves to be welcoming a new little one into our home very soon.

I have two requests:

1. This birth mother’s living situation is very unstable and unsafe. Because of the way adoption works, there is nothing tangible we can directly do for her. It is very frustrating. So, prayers for the safety of the baby and the mom would be greatly appreciated.

2. We have committed ourselves fully to this adoption, and our family and friends have invested heavily as well, we are still short several thousand dollars of the funds necessary to complete the adoption. A few weeks ago we were able to do a fundraiser that folks who would like, can still donate at: http://www.bothhands.org/swagertyadoption

Father, hear our prayer for a successful adoption, for the mother of this child, and for full financial provision for her adoptive family.  Mother Mary and St. Joseph, pray for them!
