At a special votive Mass for Peace and Justice Nov. 25 at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis, Archbishop Robert J. Carlson noted the importance of this time in the Church calendar: the end of liturgical year this past Sunday, and the beginning of Advent.
Advent begins Sunday and celebrates the Christmas season, the annual anniversary of Jesus Christ's birth in a manger in Bethlehem.
