Pope Francis' plane departs from Istanbul

(Vatican Radio) Pope Francis left Istanbul for Rome on Sunday at the conclusion of his pastoral visit to Turkey. The Pope’s three day visit took him first to Ankara and then to Istanbul and a key highlight was the signing of a joint declaration with the Ecumenical Patriarch Barthlomew I during which the two leaders pledged to intensify efforts to achieve Christian unity and also called for a constructive dialogue with Muslims.
