This Model Was Planning to Have an Abortion to Save Her Career, But Something Changed That

Australian model Robyn Lawley was initially planning to have an abortion when she found out she was pregnant, because she worried about the adverse impact an abortion would have on her modeling career.

Lawley has contracts with Ralph Lauren and Pantene and is considered a plus size model in her industry. She’s also worked with some of the world’s top photographers Rankin and Greg Kade.

Lawley considered abortion when she found out she was expecting because she’s very career driven. According to Mail Online, she even called an abortion clinic to find out about the procedure.

She said, “As soon as I found out I was pregnant, I had to take all options into account, because with a baby, I’ll have to majorly slow down — and I’m very career driven. That scared me.”

“I’ve always been proud of my body, but I feel out of control and I don’t know when I’m going to get my body back,” she worried.

Fortunately, her desire to have children won out over a concern about her career and other factors. Thankfully, the model decided against abortion but later said she considers herself “pro-choice.”

She said she did research that showed her her age of 25 was the optimum age to have a baby so she decided to carry on with the pregnancy.

In another interview she revealed that her mother had an abortion earlier in her life. Lawley concluded, “I had dreamed of children with my current partner…who I love more than anything and after a short thought process I knew I wanted this and we would make it work.”

Now, Lawley has given birth to her little girl, named Ripley — who the model calls a “precious little human.”
