Liturgical Calendar App

As we’ve gotten settled into our homeschooling routine this fall I’ve been looking for some easy apps to help me track the saint of the day as well as feast days.  One I came across recently and have been using frequently is the Liturgical Calendar App.

When you open it, this app gives you the Liturgical Season, Liturgical Color, Saint of Today, and Holy Day or Feast. Included with the Saint of Today and any Feast Days or Holy Days is a short write-up about that person or day. Additionally every Sunday or Holy Day of Obligation has a prompt, indicating it is such. You can easily scroll forwards and backwards or search for specific dates in the past or future as well.

Lastly the app has several pages where it compiles the information into a graph listing the start and end date of Liturgical Seasons, as well as Catholic Holy Days, Catholic Feasts, and Catholic Saints.

While this app isn’t a graphics masterpiece, its simple display and navigation is quite effective.

It is also worth noting that this is a newer app from what I can see and while the majority of comments are very positive, several suggest possible errors.

If you try this one out, keep an eye on any updates and be aware that some bugs may still be working their way out of the program.  I have not had any issues or seen any errors to date though I have also not gone hunting.  In addition this app does have an ad bar at the bottom.  I barely notice it and when I have paid attention I have not seen anything inappropriate.

Here’s a short YouTube video about using the app:
