Irish Family Planning Association Affiliated With Planned Parenthood, Which Sells Aborted Babies

In the wake of the first shocking undercover video which have emerged showing staff members of Planned Parenthood engaged in the sale of the organs of aborted babies, Irish politician Mattie McGrath has called on the Irish Family Planning Association (IFPA) to distance itself from the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF), which is the parent group of both the IFPA and Planned Parenthood.

In a statement on his website, Deputy McGrath said:

“The video that has emerged in recent days highlights some of the more grotesque ethical and legal nightmares associated with the abortion industry.

Here we have the Senior Medical Director of the largest abortion provider in the world casually trading in human body parts with no sense of the horrific nature of her comments.

The IFPA, which is a member of Planned Parenthood International must immediately condemn these actions and make it explicitly clear that it does not support the manipulation of abortion procedures for the purposes of maximising monetary profit by trading in human body parts.”

As well as calling for a statement from the IFPA, Deputy McGrath took the opportunity to criticize those Irish groups which are normally so vocal when it comes to the issue of abortion, but who have fallen silent in recent days as the full horrors of the Planned Parenthood videos became apparent.

In particular, he singled out the Irish group of Amnesty International which just a few weeks before the release of the first video had launched a huge campaign when it promised that the international organisation would make Ireland its “target” for the full legalization of abortion.  To date, Amnesty Ireland has had little or nothing to say about the Planned Parenthood videos and has certainly refused to condemn in any way the horrific practices shown.

Deputy McGrath also had words for the Irish Council of Civil Liberties, which has long been an advocate for the liberalization of Ireland’s abortion laws.  Much like Amnesty Ireland, it has had nothing to say about the gruesome videos emerging from the US.   Finally, he called on the Minister for Health to “immediately clarify the exact position of the IFPA on this issue since it has been on the receiving end of millions in State funding over the last number of years.”

The strong position taken by Deputy McGrath is badly needed in Ireland, where the vast majority of the mainstream media have maintained a steadfast silence in the wake of the Planned Parenthood videos, such is their reluctance to accept that the organisation that has been feted by celebrities, lobby groups and even the American President, has been engaging in such cruel and unethical practices where the rights and dignity of unborn babies are concerned.
