CNN Contributor Heads PR Firm Planned Parenthood Hired to Defend Selling Aborted Babies

A pro-life group is complaining about the conflict of interest at CNN, where one of its contributors heads the public relations firm the Planned Parenthood abortion business hired to defend itself during the scandal surrounding its selling aborted babies.

The Planed Parenthood abortion business is so desperate to put out the public relations fires that have developed in the wake of it being caught numerous times selling the body parts of aborted babies that it has hired a top public relations firm to run damage control. Planned Parenthood has hired high-profile Washington public relations firm SKDKnickerbocker as it scrambles to deal with the ongoing scandal.

The firm is headed, in part, by Hilary Rosen, the Democratic strategist who attacked Mitt Romney’s wife Ann for being a stay-at-home mom. She told Anderson Cooper that Ann Romney, the wife of presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney, has no room to comment on women’s issues because she “has never actually worked a day in her life.”

Rosen is also a CNN contributor — which is upsetting to Penny Nance, the head of the pro-life group Concerned Women for America. CWA today sent a letter to CNN President Jeff Zucker requesting the removal of Rosen from TV appearances due to her new position as crisis communications consultant to Planned Parenthood.

The mission to suppress video from the news media that shows Planned Parenthood officials and employees negotiating the sale of the remains of aborted babies creates a gross conflict of interest, Nance told LifeNews.com today.

“I am writing to respectfully request that CNN immediately cease appearances by Hilary Rosen as a political contributor.   Since she has been hired by Planned Parenthood to handle the crisis that has resulted from the extremely newsworthy video footage of Planned Parenthood employees and officials negotiating the sale of the remains of aborted babies, there is clearly a conflict of interests,” the CWA letter says.

The letter continues:

“The dual role of working for a major news organization while also being paid to minimize the most impactful news story regarding the issue of abortion in recent memory is unacceptable, particularly as the questions surrounding Planned Parenthood, which receives more than a half-billion dollars annually from taxpayers, are playing a role in the presidential campaigns of both political parties.  In the spirit of an open and free press, fairness in news coverage, and credibility with viewers, CNN and Time Warner need to cut ties with Ms. Rosen and her firm SKDKnickerbocker while she and her firm are being paid by Planned Parenthood.    In addition, any unpaid CNN appearances by Ms. Rosen or her employees at SKDKnickerbocker discussing Planned Parenthood should be clearly identified as representing Planned Parenthood.

“As a matter pf public trust, I strongly appeal to you and other CNN executives to provide ongoing, in-depth coverage on what is rapidly becoming the most important, newsworthy and controversial expose’ of our time.”
