Speaker forums to open new seasons

Two longstanding speaker series return again this fall. The Fr. Bill Zimmer Forum is offered the second Tuesday of each month at Silver Lake College in Manitowoc. The Janssen Forum is held the second Thursday of each month at Mount Tabor Retreat Center, Menasha.

Due to requests, the Janssen Forum has moved from a breakfast series to a lunch schedule. Mass is celebrated at 11:15 a.m. followed by lunch at 11:45 a.m. and the speaker at noon. The cost is $6 per session or $48 for all nine sessions.

“Touched by Mercy” is the theme for the 2015-2016 Janssen Forum. Bobby Solberg, a singer/songwriter with roots in Northeast Wisconsin, will kick off the series on Sept. 10. The forum lineup will also include Fr. Peter Mitchell, Jesuit Fr. Chris Manahan, Auxiliary Bishop Emeritus Robert Morneau, Dr. Timothy Brown, School Sister of Notre Dame Anne Arthur Klinker, Nicolet Bank CEO Robert Atwell and the SPIRITUS Team. Call (920) 722-8918 to make a reservation.

Zimmer Forum speakers will discuss a book of their choice. Bishop Morneau will open the series on Sept. 8 with a presentation about “The Enlightened Heart: An Anthology of Sacred Poetry” by Stephen Mitchell. Other Zimmer Forum speakers for the 2015-2016 season will include Judy Turba, Dr. Karl Allen Kuhn, Dr. Chris Domes, Mary Domes, Deacon Steve Meyer and St. Norbert College senior director of Mission and Ministry Juliann Massey. The Zimmer Forum is held from noon to 1 p.m. in the Heritage Room on the main campus. No registration is necessary.
