Marco Rubio on the Joy (and Peace) of the Gospel

I can’t remember the last time I heard an elected official speak as eloquently about what it means to be a follower of Christ as Sen. Marco Rubio did recently at a meeting with Christian pastors in Iowa. (The video and transcript were originally posted, here.) How many other politicians–how many Christians, period–speak about their faith with this kind of thoughtfulness and joy? There’s nothing canned in these remarks–no partisan point scoring, no awkward attempts to make the Gospel “relevant” by tying it to pet political issues–just the joy and gratitude of a man convinced that God became incarnate to save us from our sins.
