She was born in 1910 in Macedonia. Her birth name is Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu. She established the Missionaries of Charity with only 12 members. Her influence is still felt nearly 20 years after she died.

Pope Francis will declare Blessed Teresa of Kolkata a saint at the Vatican Sept. 4. Mother Teresa, as she is known, was widely considered as a living saint as she ministered to the sick and the dying in some of the poorest neighborhoods in the world. Her simple service touched the hearts of millions.
