Terminally Ill Mom Records 25 Years of Birthday Wishes for Her Newborn: “Be Good My Baby”

A terminally ill Chinese woman who chose life for her unborn daughter decided to give her child one more gift before she dies.

The Daily Mail reports 26-year-old Lin recently recorded a series of short videos to wish her daughter happy birthday every year for the next 25 years.

During the pregnancy, Lin learned that she had terminal bone cancer. She was given the option to have an abortion but chose life instead for her daughter; and on Sept. 1, her daughter was born two months early in a cesarean section, the report states.

A report from CCTV News featured Lin recording the video birthday messages for her daughter from her hospital bed. One clip showed the young mother singing happy birthday in Chinese for her daughter’s 1st birthday.

“Mum will leave for a while to a particularly far away place,” she says. “Be good, my baby!”

In China, a place where abortions are common and sometimes coerced or forced, this brave young mother is giving a a powerful example of how every life is valuable.
