Today is a beautiful opportunity to celebrate the Blessed Mother’s presentation in the temple by her parents. This feast day is an excellent way for us to reconnect with the Blessed Mother. “It is an ancient tradition, which the Blessed Virgin Mary was thus solemnly offered to God in the temple in her infancy. This festival of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin, or, as it is often called by the Greeks, the entrance of the Blessed Virgin into the Temple, is mentioned in the most ancient Greek Menologies extant.” This marvelous day serves as a gentle reminder that all our blessings are sweeter when Mary can present them to Jesus on our behalf.

Consider turning to Mary if you are feeling overwhelmed by your motherhood, your life, your marriage, your finances or any other trial or tribulation. Mary would like to intercede on your behalf to her Son, whom we celebrate in a few days on November 26th, under the title of Christ the King. Just picture Mary as a young child being presented to God the Father in the temple, and we can give all of our intentions to her, and she would love to aid us and bring us to her son, the King, and His Father.

On July 18th, 2017, it dawned on me how much I needed Mary in my life and how I desired her motherly blessings, but at the time my prayers were sporadic, rushed and inconsistent much like a young child. I wanted her parental guidance, and yet I wasn’t carving out the time it required to develop this type of relationship. So on that beautiful July day, it began, one step towards making a change in my life: I committed to saying the daily Rosary. For me, I have many role models in my family who are devoted to this daily prayer, but I realized I too needed to make this decision and stick with it. I can’t say I have been perfect in this commitment but I can promise you the reward has been “out of this world.”
