St. Paul's Ruth Dyer Honored for 40 Years of Respect Life Service

RLA Parish Coordinator Retires After 40 Years, Recognized by Archbishop, Executive Director at January 8 Meeting

There's a saying in the St. Louis Respect Life Movement that "when you're in it for life, you're in it for life." That's certainly true of Ruth Dyer of O'Fallon, MO who recently completed 40-plus years of volunteer service as a RLA parish coordinator for St. Paul Parish in St. Paul, MO.

As a small token of our gratitude, a very surprised and humble Ruth graciously accepted the dozen red roses, gift card, and signed certificate from Archbishop Robert Carlson and presented by Executive Director Karen Nolkemper.

In her 40 years as a parish coordinator, Ruth has tirelessly upheld the sanctity of all human life through countless educational, spiritual, pastoral, and public policy efforts. These activities and events have included very visible things such as attending the March for Life in Washington, D.C. and organizing fundraisers to help women facing crisis pregnancies in our local area.

They've also included more "ordinary" things such overseeing the repair/cleaning of pro-life banners for Kenrick-Glennon Seminary and parishes throughout her deanery, and mentoring the next generation of pro-life volunteers and leaders, like Lauren Prize, who has been cheerfully helping Ruth out until a new coordinator is chosen by their pastor.

Although Ruth is retiring from leadership, she said "please don't take me off the list" because "when you're in it for life, you're in it for LIFE!"

Thank you, Ruth, and God bless you.
