Baby Jesus Returns to Iowa State Capitol
Baby Jesus will be present at the Iowa State Capitol this Christmas season. Starting with an opening ceremony at 11 a.m. (Central) on December 18 and remaining through December 26, 2017, a traditional Christian crèche will be on display in the north
west corner of the first-floor rotunda, at 1007 East Grand Avenue in Des Moines. The Thomas More Society has teamed up again with the American Nativity Scene to help keep privately funded manger scenes in the public square for Christmas.
“We are excited to share our Christmas message with the public, as the Constitution allows us to do,” said Martin Cannon, Thomas More Society attorney. “More than just an opportunity to share our faith, it is a chance to invite everyone to seek peace on earth and goodwill to all,” he added.
