Happy Monday!From news.vaPope Francis had a busy weekend, most notably celebrating World Family Day with a talk Saturday evening and a Mass Sunday morning in which he said the goal of families is to pray, keep the Faith and experience joy.Then this morning during Mass, he emphasized that Jesus continues to pray and intercede for us. He later met with the staff of Vatican Television Centre, in which he challenged the group to "play like a team" and continue to work in service to the Church and the Holy See.Pope Francis also celebrated another milestone: 10 million Twitter followers.A new Gallup poll suggests that the U.S. economy would improve if the marriage rate were to increase.From Gallup.comAn increase in vocations to the priesthood has prompted a seminary in Boynton Beach, Fla., to begin a multi-million dollar expansion.Two Protestant colleges have joined the fight against the HHS mandate by filing suit. One of the members of the newly formed Council of Cardinals, Cardinal Oscar Rodriguez Maradiaga of Tegucigalpa, told those at the University of Dallas Ministry Council Conference Friday that "the mission of the Church is the mission of Jesus."And, as a follow-up from last week, for those in the U.S. Air Force, the phrase "so help me God," is now optional.Gretchen R.
