Woman Whose 7-Month-Old Baby Girl Was Cut Out of Her Womb: My Daughter’s in Heaven
The Colorado mother whose 7-month-old unborn baby was cut out of her womb in a vicious attack on her weeks ago has released a public statement for the first time since the attack. Michelle Wilkins (pictured above) says her baby girl, whom she named Aurora, is in heaven.
After an examination of the 7-month-old unborn baby who was cut out of a Colorado woman’s womb this week, county officials say they will not charge the woman who cut the baby out of her mother’s womb with murder for killing the baby. That’s because the state lacks an unborn victims law to hold criminals accountable when they kill or injure unborn children in such criminal attacks. The prosecutor in the case has ties to the Planned Parenthood abortion business.
Dynel Catrece Lane was arrested after she attacked a pregnant woman and cut her 7-month-old unborn baby from her womb. In this unbelievable act of violence, the baby died and Michelle Wilkins was in critical condition in the hospital for days. A report shows the baby breathed a heavy last gasp before she died.
Now, on the family’s GoFundMe web site they are using to help cover the costs of her medical bills, Wilkins released a public statement thanking the public for their prayers and support.

“I wanted to thank everyone again for the prayers and positive thoughts that have been deeply felt and helped my healing,” Michelle Wilkins wrote late Sunday night.
Wilkins said her daughter, who she named Aurora, is a “light being now, nothing but ethereal joy and love. Forever in my heart.”
“I can already feel it’s going to be a long journey to physical and emotion recovery, but I am grateful for every person that has reached out to help in their own way,” Wilkins said. “You have my eternal gratitude.”
The family said Michelle is “taking the first tentative steps along a long journey towards recovery and spiritual reconciliation. She is surrounded by friends and family and wishes to express her deep gratitude for all the expressions of love, kindness, and spiritual solidarity she has received from both the Longmont community and from around the world. Michelle believes her recovery is directly aided by the prayers and positive energy she is receiving.”
Unfortunately, prosecutors will not be able to bring charges for the unborn child’s death because Colorado state law does not regard unborn children as human beings who deserve justice when they are killed. In 2013, Colorado Democrats killed a bill that would add the state to the list of more than 25 states that provide justice and protection for pregnant women and unborn children.
Sarah Zagorski, the Executive Director of Colorado Citizens for Life said, “This horrific case highlights the need for an Unborn Victims of Violence law in Colorado, which would recognize the unlawful killing of an unborn child as homicide. This woman’s baby was viable and suffered a cruel and violent death. Colorado should have laws punishing perpetrators of these innocent, defenseless victims.”
Wilkins was beaten and stabbed before Lane cut her unborn baby from her abdomen. Left alone in the basement of the home, she was eventually able to call police, was rescued and rushed to the hospital for immediate surgery. An autopsy on the baby is scheduled to be completed Friday. The woman accused of committing the violent attack, 34-year-old Dynel Lane, later allegedly brought the deceased child to the hospital and claimed she’d had a miscarriage. She was arrested and booked into the Boulder County Jail.
As LifeNews previously reported, many states recognize the unlawful killing of an unborn child as homicide in at least some circumstances. Colorado Rep. Janak Joshi supported the 2013 bill and hoped the committee would approve it.
