Abortion Business Files Lawsuit to Stop More Videos Exposing Sales of Aborted Baby Parts

A trade group representing independent abortion businesses not affiliated with Planned Parenthood has filed a lawsuit seeking to stop the release of additional videos exposing the sales of body parts from aborted babies.

While the videos have focused on the Planned Parenthood abortion business and the biotech firm StemExpress, which buys and resells aborted baby body parts from the abortion giant, the National Abortion Federation is concerned about footage from events it has sponsored for abortion clinics across the country.

NAF said it “filed suit today in federal court seeking a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction which would prohibit the Center for Medical Progress (CMP), David Daleiden, and others from releasing recordings and materials they illegally obtained at NAF’s educational meetings.”

“The suit, filed in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, asks that the Defendants be preliminarily and permanently enjoined from publishing or otherwise disclosing any recordings or confidential information from NAF annual meetings, publishing or otherwise disclosing the names or addresses of any NAF members that they learned at NAF annual meetings, and attempting to gain access to any future NAF meetings,” the abortion business trade group said.

NAF appears to be embarrassed that pro-life advocates were able gain access to its events to expose the grisly trade of selling aborted babies for research after abortions, and accuses CMP and Daleiden of engaging in illegal activities that were merely the kind of undercover investigations a local television news station might engage in to expose illicit practices.

“n order to circumvent the very necessary security precautions NAF has in place, CMP engaged in a long-running illegal conspiracy. They set up a fake company and sent fake employees of that company with fake identities to misrepresent themselves and gain access to NAF’s annual meetings and member facilities that provide abortion care. They signed agreements with NAF that prohibited the activities they have engaged in, obviously with no intention of honoring those agreements.”

In a statement today, Daleiden said the abortion industry is engaging in a knee-jerk reaction to being exposed.

“Planned Parenthood and its political allies are using every means possible to try and silence us and suppress investigative journalism but none of these bullying tactics change the facts our undercover investigation continues to prove — that Planned Parenthood illegally harvests, traffics and sells aborted baby body parts for profit.  The four video reports we have released so far are undeniable to anyone who watches them and they prove that Planned Parenthood is engaged in a gruesome and inhuman enterprise.  One would think the reaction would be to stop forcing hard working Americans to pay for this enterprise –isn’t there a better way to spend the American people’s money than to given half a billion a year to an organization engaged in selling aborted baby body parts?  The Center for Medical Progress follows all applicable laws in the course of our investigative journalism work and will contest all attempts from Planned Parenthood and their allies to silence our First Amendment rights.”

The NAF lawsuit and injunction request follows on the heels of one from StemExpress.

Earlier this week, a court in California has blocked the pro-life group releasing undercover videos exposing Planned Parenthood selling unborn baby body parts from releasing any videos regarding the middleman, StemExpress.  The restraining order does not apply to the Planned Parenthood abortion business, and it appears the Center for Medical Progress can continue releasing videos exposing the abortion giant’s sale of aborted baby body parts.

“StemExpress, a for-profit company partnered with over 30 abortion clinics, including Planned Parenthood, to harvest and sell aborted baby parts and provide a “financial benefit” to Planned Parenthood clinics, is attempting to use meritless litigation to cover-up this illegal baby parts trade, suppress free speech, and silence the citizen press reporting on issues of burning concern to the American public,” CMP said in a statement.

The group continued in its statement to LifeNews: “They are not succeeding—their initial petition was rejected by the court, and their second petition was eviscerated to a narrow and contingent order about an alleged recording pending CMP’s opportunity to respond. The Center for Medical Progress follows all applicable laws in the course of our investigative journalism work and will contest all attempts from Planned Parenthood and their allies to silence our First Amendment rights and suppress investigative journalism.”

SIGN THE PETITION! Congress Must Investigate Planned Parenthood for Selling Aborted Baby Parts

As LifeNews reported, the first video of undercover footage shows Planned Parenthood Federation of America’s Senior Director of Medical Services, Dr. Deborah Nucatola, describing how Planned Parenthood sells the body parts of aborted unborn children and admitting she uses partial-birth abortions to supply intact body parts.

In the second video, Planned Parenthood doctor Maru Gatter discusses the pricing of aborted baby body parts — telling the biotech company officials that the prices for such things as a baby’s liver, head or heart are negotiable. She also tells the officials that she could talk with the Planned Parenthood abortion practitioners to potentially alter the abortion procedure to kill the baby in a way that would best preserve those body parts after the unborn child is killed in the abortion.

In a flyer from Stem Express, they describe their business as “a multi-million dollar company that supplies human blood, tissue products, primary cells and other clinical specimens to biomedical researchers.” Then they encourage organizations to pursue their business because they can help them implement programs that bring in financial profits. The Federalist points out that the Stem Express flyer even quotes a Planned Parenthood official who endorses their business.

After considerable international outrage over the video, StemExpress took down its web site — putting it in “maintenance mode.”

Later, the web site went back up and anyone can purchase body parts from babies Planned Parenthood kills in abortions. The company apologizes for being down due to excessive traffic: “We apologize for our website being down for the last 24 hours. It was knocked offline by excessive traffic.”

The company also issued a statement defending its purchase and sale of body parts from aborted babies — saying it is justified for medical research purposes, eve though plenty of ethical alternatives are available that don’t involve killing people to heal people.
