Thoth Sunday, Lundi Gras and Mardi Gras in New Orleans

Thoth Sunday, Lundi Gras and Mardi Gras in New Orleans

On Monday’s show… I brought you along with me to New Orleans for the Thoth parade for an on-the-street experience of Mardi Gras in New Orleans. We talk Lundi Gras (Fat Monday) and Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday). Peek behind the scenes of how the Mardi Gras floats are made, and find out what you absolutely need to know to parade like a New Orleanian at Mardi Gras! It’s a family event and this show proves it. Listen in to find out more.

On the show I referred to Sunday as “Bacchus Sunday.” The funny thing is that the riders in Thoth were throwing t-shirts that emblazoned with the words “Thoth Sunday” on them. I got a big kick out of that. And then there was this comment on Facebook left by our Parochial Vicar Fr. Peter Finney… just reminding me that it really is “Thoth Sunday.” [Click the comment icon below to see.] 😉

On the show… join me in New Orleans for the Thoth parade for an on-the-street experience of #MardiGras in New Orleans….

New Orleans Mardi Gras: a How-To Guide

Making Mardi Gras Floats with Kern Studios

Mardi Gras Day Parades with Nuns

On Fat Tuesday, we did something out of the ordinary… and I am so glad we did. Instead of heading to St. Charles Avenue to catch the Rex parade, we went to the Metairie and paraded with the Daughters of St. Paul and a bunch of families. We kinda had a lot of fun, as you can tell by the photos below.
