Pro-Life Advocates March to Gosnell’s House of Horrors, Demand Democrats Defend Unborn Children

Ahead of the Democratic National Convention this week in Philadelphia, a group of pro-lifers called on the party to remember the abortion horrors that shook the city several years ago.

The pro-lifers marched to notorious late-term abortionist Kermit Gosnell’s former abortion facility on Saturday where they prayed and asked the Democratic Party to stop promoting abortion, according to Philly.com. About 30 people attended the rally, which was preceded by a Catholic Mass, the report states.

“DNC, defend unborn children,” the pro-lifers chanted outside the now-closed abortion facility where Gosnell murdered three late-term newborn babies and contributed to the death of a female patient.

“We must never, ever forget what happened here,” Monique Ruberu, a Philadelphia OBGYN, said during the event. “Only one candidate is pro-life. … We must vote for life.”

African American Pastor Clenard Childress, head of the pro-life organization L.E.A.R.N., also spoke on Saturday about the abortion industry’s targeting of Black Americans for abortions. Gosnell also reportedly discriminated against minority women.

Childress said it is hypocritical for the abortion business Planned Parenthood to stand with the Black Lives Matter movement because it targets minorities for abortions. A 2012 analysis found that 79 percent of Planned Parenthood’s abortion facilities were located within walking distances of minority neighborhoods.

“You’re a hypocrite unless you deal with the 1,700 African American children killed each day by abortion,” Childress said.

The horrors discovered at Gosnell’s facility were a wake-up call to the nation. A grand jury investigation found that Gosnell may have killed hundreds of late-term newborn babies and injured dozens of women inside his filthy abortion clinic; but he passed under the radar because of the government’s lack of oversight of abortion facilities. In the end, there was only enough evidence for Gosnell to be convicted of murder for three newborn babies and manslaughter in the death of a female patient.

During court trials, Gosnell’s staff admitted that women often gave birth to late-term babies alive and then Gosnell or another staffer killed the babies by snipping the backs of their necks with scissors. Court documents revealed how Gosnell allowed a 15-year-old to perform complex medical procedures, putting patients’ lives at risk.

The “house of horrors” abortion case is what prompted states across the country to pass abortion facility regulations. Prosecutors in the case said Gosnell got away with his shoddy, murderous abortion practice for decades because of the lack of government oversight. According to authorities investigating the case, hair and nail salons were subject to greater scrutiny than abortion clinics in Pennsylvania.

The abortion clinic regulations were based on grand jury recommendations in the gruesome case, but many Democrats openly opposed them in their state legislatures. A recent U.S. Supreme Court decision overturned the regulations that Texas passed to protect women and babies in their state from abortionists like Gosnell.

Democrats are partnering with pro-abortion groups to atack abortion clinic regulations in Pennsylvania and other states, too, putting the lives of women and unborn children at risk again.

This week, in the city where these abortion horrors occurred just a few years ago, the Democratic Party will call for an end to all abortion regulations (like the ones in Texas and Pennsylvania) that restrict a woman’s access to abortion. The party’s proposed 2016 platform calls for completely unregulated taxpayer-funded abortions for any reason through all nine months of pregnancy.
