Cecile Richards: Vote Against Donald Trump, He “Vowed to Defund Planned Parenthood”

Planned Parenthood is anxious to see Donald Trump lose.

The abortion chain’s CEO Cecile Richards has been traveling across the country to campaign for pro-abortion Democrat Hillary Clinton and to warn voters that a Trump White House could mean a bad future for Planned Parenthood and abortion.

This week, Richards wrote a guest column for the Orlando Sentinel, claiming that women’s “health and economic future are at stake.”

“Both Donald Trump and his running mate, Mike Pence, have also vowed to defund Planned Parenthood,” Richards wrote. “Thousands of Florida women will lose access to breast- and cervical-cancer screenings, birth control and other preventive care at Planned Parenthood health centers. For many, we are the only provider of these services.

“Trump wants Roe v. Wade overturned, and has said women should be punished for getting an abortion. While Trump wants to treat you like a criminal, Clinton will stand up to protect your right to make your own decisions about when to start a family,” she continued.

SIGN THE PETITION! Congress Must De-Fund Planned Parenthood Immediately

The abortion chain threw its support behind Clinton months ago when it endorsed her in the Democratic primary – an unprecedented move. Since then, Planned Parenthood’s political arm has been actively involved in the election, buying ads trashing Republican candidate Donald Trump, attacking his pro-life running mate Mike Pence online, and organizing events to target young, pro-abortion voters.

Planned Parenthood, the largest abortion chain in America, is working hard because it knows how much is at stake in the upcoming presidential election. Right now, Planned Parenthood receives approximately $550 million in tax dollars every year, and Richard’s salary is close to $1 million.

Clinton vowed to keep funneling tax dollars to Planned Parenthood, while Trump said he is “committed” to defunding the abortion chain as long as it keeps doing abortions.

The next president also could have the chance to nominate up to four U.S. Supreme Court justices to the high court and influence abortion law for decades. Clinton promised to appoint pro-abortion judges to the high court who would uphold Roe v. Wade and abortion on demand through all nine months of pregnancy.

If elected, Clinton potentially would be the most pro-abortion president in U.S. history. Clinton’s abortion stance is radical and out of touch with most Americans. She promised Planned Parenthood that she would try to overturn the Hyde Amendment and force taxpayers to fund abortions, which would funnel even more tax dollars to the abortion industry.

The Trump-Pence team would present a stark contrast on abortion to Clinton. Trump has promised to appoint pro-life judges who will protect the right to life for unborn babies.

“We are going to appoint great Supreme Court justices… These will be justices of great intellect… And they will be pro-life,” Trump told pro-life leaders in June.

Trump also released a well-received list of 11 potential Supreme Court nominees — a list pro-life groups hailed for having strong supporters of the Constitution.

Pence is a pro-life champion who has signed multiple pieces of pro-life legislation into law and led the fight in Congress to de-fund Planned Parenthood. Earlier this year, Pence signed a law to protect unborn babies with disabilities like Down syndrome from being aborted.
